These terms are an agreement between you and TabetAI ("we", "us") for the use of the TabetAI app and its services. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
TabetAI is under active development. Features may change, break, or be removed, and nutrition estimates and AI features may be inaccurate. The app is provided "as is"; where a change requires migrating server data, we will give reasonable notice where practical.
TabetAI provides estimates of calories, macronutrients, and activity for general wellness tracking. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary, or health advice. AI estimates can be wrong. Consult a qualified professional before making significant dietary changes, and do not use the app to manage a medical condition or an eating disorder.
Any glycemic index or glycemic load figures are rough dietary estimates, not clinical measurements. They must never be used to dose insulin or to manage diabetes or any other medical condition.
This section applies equally to the AI companion chat: nothing the companion says is medical, dietary, or mental-health advice (see Section 3).
TabetAI includes generative-AI features, including the companion chat, nutrition estimates, and meal suggestions. Output produced by these features ("AI Output") is generated by a machine-learning model, not written by a human.
You start with an anonymous account and may link an email to secure it. You are responsible for your credentials and for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region). We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or abuse the service.
"Content" means the meal photos, text descriptions, meal names, and related material you submit. You keep ownership of your Content. So the app can work and so we can build better food-recognition technology, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and display your Content in order to:
This license survives deletion of individual Content or your account only to the extent the Content has already been incorporated into trained models or datasets distributed to third parties; otherwise deletion removes the Content from the live service and future training/dataset use. Health Connect data is not Content and is never licensed, sold, or trained on. Companion-chat messages are not used for the dataset purposes in (c).
You confirm you have the right to upload what you submit, and you agree not to upload photos deliberately featuring identifiable people, children, documents, or other private information.
You agree not to: abuse, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service or its security measures (including Play Integrity and rate limits); attempt to circumvent the safety guardrails of our AI features (see Section 3); use automated means to farm energy, TabeGems, missions, or leaderboards; use automated or scripted means to generate AI requests (including on unlimited-energy tiers) at volumes beyond ordinary personal use (we may throttle, suspend, or terminate such use); harass other users through usernames, group names, or shared meals; or upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content. We may remove content and restrict features to protect users and the service.
AI features (meal scans, meal suggestions, menu scans, weekly reports, and companion chat where included) draw on a shared allowance attached to your plan rather than a separate quota per feature. The EX tier includes a daily allowance and a monthly allowance; the current figures are shown in the app and may be adjusted with notice. The MAX tier is not subject to those figures, and is instead subject to the fair-use terms of this section: it is provided for ordinary personal, non-automated use, and we may throttle, suspend, or terminate use that goes materially beyond it.
Community sharing (Section 9) puts a dish name you typed in front of strangers, so it carries its own rules. A shared dish row must not contain: misleading or fabricated nutrition numbers; offensive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, unlawful or off-topic dish names; promotional, spam, or bulk entries; or food attributed to a private residence or any location that is not a real, publicly operating business. We may hide or remove any shared row, and suspend an account's sharing privileges permanently, with or without a report, including automatically once a row has been reported by enough people, pending review. Report tools are in the app; abuse of the report tools is itself a breach of this section.
Energy, TabeGems, streak freezes, characters, and similar items are virtual features with no monetary value. They are a license, not property; they cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash or refunded, and we may adjust balances, prices, and mechanics (including to fix abuse) at our discretion.
Our paid subscriptions (the EX and MAX tiers) are sold and billed through Google Play Billing (on Android) or Apple's App Store (on iOS), and your Google account or Apple ID is charged when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions on Android, or Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Any promotional or launch price applies until we end that offer; we will give notice in-app before any price increase takes effect, as required by the applicable store. Except where required by law or by the applicable store's policies, payments are non-refundable, and refund requests are handled under Google Play's or the App Store's refund policy, whichever store processed the purchase. Paid tiers provide additional energy and AI features for ordinary personal use, drawing on the plan allowances described in Section 6; energy on the MAX tier is subject to the fair-use limits in that section, and the companion chat is subject to Section 3.
Meals you log while in a group are shared with that group (including a photo thumbnail when available). Friends can see your username. Don't join groups with people you don't want seeing your food diary entries.
Community sharing is separate, and off unless you turn it on. It is opt-in per saved spot: ticking the share box on one spot makes that spot's dish name, nutrition numbers and tagged venue visible to other TabetAI users near that venue, in the app's meal-suggestion features. It never shares your name, your username, your private note, your other meals, or when you were there beyond the month; only spots tagged to a real business can be shared. You can withdraw any spot at any time, or all of them at once from Settings, and it stops being shown immediately. Sharing earns no virtual items (Section 7). Rows other people share are theirs, not ours, and are shown to you as stored; you can report a row or hide a contributor from the app, and we review reports and act on them, but we make no warranty about the accuracy of nutrition numbers anyone else typed. Section 5's license applies to what you share here; the dataset uses in 5(c) do not.
The service depends on third parties (Anthropic for AI processing, Supabase for hosting, Google Play services and Google Play Billing on Android, and Apple's App Store on iOS). Their availability is outside our control, and their terms apply to their processing.
To the maximum extent permitted by law: the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind; AI Output (Section 3) is provided without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for your circumstances, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on AI Output or from actions you take based on it; we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 10. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.
You can stop using TabetAI at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or terminate the service or your access for breach of these terms, legal reasons, or discontinuation of the service. Sections 3, 5, 11, and 13 survive termination.
We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be announced in-app, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Questions: support@tabetai.app.
